Every website needs a good contact form. You can find some good forms of plugins for WordPress, free, and paid. You can build a good form with the free plugin, but oftentimes they don’t offer a good amount of customizable options. But this is not the case with Forminator.
Forminator is a great free plugin that has many options to choose from, great features and you can build beautiful forms very easily.
It is developed by WPMU DEV which makes great plugins like Hummingbird, SmartCrawl, Defender, etc.
If you want to have a good and easy to use contact form builder then read this blog where I explain every feature and option you can tweak.
When you install it you will see a new section on your WordPress dashboard from where you can choose different options and features.
With Forminator you can build not only contact form but also quizzes and polls. Also, it has more options but I will talk about them later.
Also, it stores submission locally and you can export it.
This plugin has an integration ability with other famous apps like Zapier, Slack, MailChimp, Trello, and more. And it has an API that makes it easier to create custom apps but this feature is not available with the free version.
When you start to create a form it gives you the option to choose templates for contact form, registration form, newsletter, etc. Or you can start from scratch with blank. You give it a name and you are good to go.
Now, Forminator’s interface is very good and easy to use. It is not complicated and everyone should be able to create a form with ease.
Form creation is divided into sections like fields, appearance, behavior, etc.
In the fields section, you construct a form with different fields and send button. Perhaps the Forminator has more fields option with a free version than any other free form builder.
Fields you can choose from are – name, email, text area, address, website, number, checkbox, calculator, reCaptcha, HTML, currency, and more.
Also, it has Paypal and Stripe payment options, so you can build a payment form. That is a big one.
In this section, you will beautify your form with different options. Change how the form looks, change colors for inputs, placeholders, buttons, etc. Also, change fonts, customize padding, and border.
It also has a custom CSS option so if you know little coding you can change even more and make it really custom.
Next is the behavior section. You can redirect the user when he submits a form to a specific page, validate the form on submit or the server-side, turn on/off validation.
Also, enable autofill, different security tweaks, submission lifespan, and other options. And you can use AJAX loading and prevent caching for this form. Many options to choose from.
And in the notifications section, you choose the email where submission is sent and you can use multiple mails if you want. Also, as I mentioned earlier, you can integrate forms with other apps.
How To Insert Forminator On Your Website
After you are done, press the Publish button, and your form creation is done. It will give you a shortcode that can be inserted on your pages or posts whether you use Gutenberg, Elementor, or other page builders.
Now, on the Forminator dashboard, you will see your newly created form. If you press a little gear icon you will see that you can edit, preview, get short code, duplicate, export, or delete it.
Also, you can see stats like views, submissions, and conversion rates for that particular form. This plugin gives almost everything you need for free.
Forminator is really a great plugin form a great team behind it. This is my favorite form plugin and I use it on WPSUM. If you want to try a new form builder than I recommend it. Try it and see different with your own eyes.
